Maria de Los Angeles Rodriguez Mejia, is an associate at the firm. She is assigned to the international area, and has experienced in sovereign issues and the capital markets. Ms. Rodriguez Mejia has worked with other members of the firm providing legal advice to financial institutions, insurance companies, small and large corporations, in domestic and international transactions.
Ms. Rodriguez Mejia was member of the firm’s team that acted as Local Legal Counsel to the Republic of El Salvador, on the issue of sovereign bonds to the international capital markets during the years 2004 , 2005 y 2009. The issues were executed pursuant to Rule 144A and Regulation S under the United States Securities Act of 1933. The aggregate amount of both issues was approximately $1.46 billion and they were successfully placed.
In 2003 she won the Second Prize in the Contest “Law Student Award” given by the Inter-American Bar Association IABA, during its XXXIX Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States of America. In 2004 she participated in the XXIII Latin-American Congress of Banking Law.
