Jose Luis Rodriguez Sanchez is founding partner of the firm. He is assigned to the corporate finance area, banking and corporate laws areas. Mr. Rodriguez Sanchez has extensive practice and expertise in transactions involving financial institutions, insurance and reinsurance companies, the Government of the Republic of El Salvador, and private corporations within the following industries: construction, investment, and pharmaceutics. He was professor of Business Law for 9 years at the Universidad de El Salvador, lecturer on Financial Instruments in a project financed by the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Consejo Nacional de la Judicatura (National Council of the Judiciary) of El Salvador. He was the In-House Counsel of Financiera de Construccion y Ahorro, S.A., a national financial institution that later became BANCASA, Banco de Construccion y Ahorro, S.A. Mr. Rodriguez Sanchez has represented domestic clients in administrative proceedings before the Corp of Engineers of the Army of the United States of America, and before administrative branches of the European Union.
Mr. Rodriguez Sanchez was member of the firm’s team that acted as Local Legal Counsel to the Republic of El Salvador, on the issuance of sovereign bonds in the international capital markets during the years 2004, 2005 and 2009. The issues were executed pursuant to Rule 144A and Regulation S under the United States Securities Act of 1933. The aggregate amount of those three issues was approximately $1.46 billion and they were successfully placed.
Other achievements: -Counsel to the Board of Directors of a prestigious insurance company in El Salvador. - Member of the Salvadorian Association to the Study of Insurance Law which is composed by the in-house counsels of the Insurance companies of El Salvador.
-Mr. Rodriguez Sanchez was director of the Lawyers Cooperative of El Salvador, member of the Rotary Club San Salvador Maquilishuat. He has assisted to many seminars on Banking and Commercial Law held by the Fundación de Estudios para la Aplicación del Derecho FESPAD (Foundation to the Study and Enforcement of the Law), Fundación Latinoamericana de Bancos FELABAN (Latin-American Foundation of Banks), and the Instituto Centroamericano de Administracion de Empresas INCAE, Central-American Institution of Business Administration.
